Mr. Paul Robinson is the Program Manager for the Ocean Energy Safety Institute (OESI). OESI provides a forum for dialogue, shared learning and cooperative research among academia, government, industry and other non-government organizations in offshore-related technologies and activities that help ensure environmentally safe and responsible offshore operations. Paul assumed the position of Program Manager in October 2014.
Paul Robinson is based at the University of Houston and supports efforts of OESI in the Houston area.
Mr. Robinson previously worked at Oceaneering International Inc., where he most recently held the position of Deputy Program Manager/Senior Engineer, performing contract and operational safety management for NASA astronaut training programs, aerospace product development and offshore sub-sea engineering design projects. He has received numerous service awards from Oceaneering and NASA over the past 18 years, and is a U.S. patent holder in the field of cryogenic life support.
Mr. Robinson has a B.S. degree in Ocean Engineering from Florida Atlantic University and has been a professional commercial diver on mixed-gas and saturation diving operations since 1978. Paul’s underwater expertise includes many aspects of sub-sea field technology including rig construction and decommissioning programs, well-head and pipeline installations, non-destructive ultrasonic inspection, and remote operated vehicle (ROV) intervention.
